In his classic song “Changes,” David Bowie sings “turn and face the strange.” Change is inevitable, unexpected, and “strange” by definition, as 2020 has shown.
The pandemic has forced advisors to reassess their business models, tool kits and platforms. If the trade press is accurate, many FAs are evaluating moves from broker-dealers to RIAs.
Client-centric advisors need ask only one question: “Will such a move enhance my ability to meet client needs?”
For most advisors, the answer to that question is “yes.” Reaching that answer requires FAs to “turn and face the strange,” to explore and learn about something unfamiliar.
